Jeff Dickson grew up on Sylvia Lake and is a certified American Canoe Association instructor.
He and Laker Sandy Kraker will be offering canoe and kayak instruction on the July 4 weekend. Jeff has also volunteered to organize and supervise canoe and kayak races.Assisting with this event will be Alex Perry, Kate and Elissa Cook, and Shirley Putman.

It was a windy July 1, Jeff Dickson and Sandy Kraker conducted a kayak class for lakers. Taking shelter from the wind in a corner of Wintergreen Bay, the group learned strokes and played a game of "dead fish" with a floating sponge. Participants received a certificate for their participation.
