About The Website
This site is owned and operated by Shari Barnhart, a resident of Sylvia Lake's North Shore and in the winter, St. Petersburg, Florida. As a newly retired teacher in 2003, who just built a "retirement" house in Northern New York, I needed a project to keep my skills sharp and give me a way to learn more about my new community. The website began in November of 2003.

The website's purpose continues to be "to create an online community for summer and year-round residents of Sylvia Lake." In 2007, the Sprague sisters set up a Facebook Group. This provided a more immediate way for lakers to be in touch with one another and share photos and other Sylvia Lake information.

The website provides a forum and an archive for Sylvia Lake Association events and activities. I do receive a small stipend from the Association for domains and hosting expenses, etc. If you would like to make a contribution, I would be very grateful. PayPal allows you to contribute using a credit card. You do not have to create a PayPal account. (FYI: Only one person has ever contributed...)
